Unlike tropical destinations, South Korea has four incredibly distinct seasons. Each season completely transforms the landscape, the food, and the overall travel experience.
Kiki’s Quick Answer: If you are looking for perfect weather and breathtaking scenery, spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are the best times to visit.
However, every season has its own unique magic! Whether you are chasing pink cherry blossoms, golden autumn leaves, or a snowy K-Drama romance, here is your ultimate 2026 seasonal travel guide and the best itineraries for each!
🌸 Spring (March - May): The Pink Wonderland
Spring in Korea is legendary. The harsh winter melts away, the temperature becomes perfectly mild, and the entire country turns into a soft pink wonderland thanks to the cherry blossoms.

- Temperature: 10°C to 22°C (50°F to 71°F).
- What to pack: Light jackets, cardigans, and comfortable walking shoes. Beware of the "Yellow Dust" (fine dust from the desert) in March—bring high-quality face masks!

- Seoul: Start from Yeouido Hangang Park (Yunjung-ro) or Jamsil Seokchon Lake and take a walk under a giant cherry blossom tunnel. You can become the romantic protagonist of a movie or drama. Even if you visit at night, the cherry blossom path under soft lighting will create unforgettable memories.

- Seoul (Indoor & Night): Avoid the scorching midday sun! Shop at large, air-conditioned shopping malls like Lotte World Tower in Jamsil, COEX in Gangnam, and The Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido. At night, enjoy a picnic by the Han River, savoring fried chicken and beer (chimaek).

If I have to choose the absolute best season, it is Autumn. The humidity disappears, the skies turn a striking crystal blue, and the mountains explode in brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold. In my opinion, if you want to experience the atmosphere of autumn in Korea, you must go hiking and take walks.

- What to pack: Layers! T-shirts for the sunny days, and a stylish trench coat or light jacket for the crisp, chilly evenings.
🗺️ Kiki's Recommended Autumn Itinerary (The Heritage & Nature Route)
- Seoul Palaces: Rent a Hanbok and visit Gyeongbokgung or Changdeokgung Palace. The traditional architecture looks incredibly majestic against the autumn foliage.
[Gyeongbokgung Palace : 161 Sajik-ro, Jongno District, Seoul] - Nami Island: Take a day trip from Seoul to this romantic island, famous for its long, golden pathways of Ginkgo and Metasequoia trees. You cannot enter Nami Island by car. You must enter by ferry, so be sure to check the ferry schedule! Alternatively, a unique way to enter Nami Island is via zipline. If you enjoy extreme activities, give the zipline a try!

- Seoul (Festive & Warm): See the massive Christmas light displays in Myeongdong. Warm your body in a Jjimjilbang (traditional Korean bathhouse and sauna), and eat hot street food like Hotteok (sweet pancakes).
[Myeongdong Shopping Street : Myeong-dong 2(i)-ga, Jung District, Seoul] - Gangwon-do Province: This is the snow capital of Korea (host of the 2018 Winter Olympics). Visit world-class ski resorts like Yongpyong or Alpensia for skiing and snowboarding. Also, be sure to visit the Daegwallyeong Snow Flower Festival and Daegwallyeong Sheep Ranch right next to Yongpyong! Cute sheep will welcome you. The vast ranch is the best photo spot!
